1. Here’s something you don’t see often in the South bay: big waves. Crazy swell coming through the SoCal area that hit this morning. Looks like the swell is going to last until around Tuesday. Unsurprisingly, looking around Hermosa and Manhattan beach, all I saw were the typical closeouts that arise as soon as the waves get bigger than 5-6 feet. However, this video of El Porto taken today shows that the waves do seem surf-able. Good news for local surfers trying to get in quick and not spend half the day driving around the coast looking for a ride-able wave.
